Hi, ive notice in recent weeks the my car has been using more fuel than it has done. Ive changed the thermostat and before i replaced the stat the temperature gauge did flucutate a bit. Im getting roughly 50 miles to a tenners worth of fuel, ive had a diagnostics check done and no fualts found in the memory. Any help would be greatful.

I noticed mine has been doing the same but put it down to the air temperatures getting colder. I was getting about 68 miles to a tenner but has gone down to 63 in the last few weeks.

You could check your brakes aren't binding and that there are no leaks in the exhaust system.

Fuel prices gone up?

Afraid I can't think in miles per ten pounds.

On avearge I get between 330 and 360 miles per tank before the light comes on but I have seen it dip into the high 200s when driving around town a lot.

The mpg gauge tells me I get about 33-34mpg on average.

How do your figures compare to those numbers?

Mine was (earlier this year) always without fail getting 370 miles to a £54 tank with mixed driving and the computer was saying around 34mpg.

In the last month its gone down to 340-350 miles to the tank and struggling to get over 33mpg indicated.

Saying that I haven't done any long motorway journeys for months and those used to up the average mpg to close to 35

It's the cold weather, mine's doing this also.
