Swapping Twist for Popper Mat Fittings

Featured Replies

Being my first post, firstly I must say hi to everyone.

Just traded my 4x4 Turbo Estate for a 55 Octavia TFSi VRS and I want to swap the worn textile mats for some rubber jobs. I bought the Skoda ones and after a closer look realised the fittings were the popper type and not the twist fittings that are on the car. I took the rubber mats back to the dealer who pointed out that they were supplied with new screw in pop fittings and that they could be swapped for the twist fittings and that I could re-fit the twist ones when I come to fit new VRS textile mats once better weather comes around. Trouble is I can't get the existing twist fittings out. Is it wise to remove them at all. They turn but do not screw out. I have laid the mats in loose for now but would obviously like them fixed.

Dealer rekons that pop fittings on Octavia 2 mats is a factory error. Does he speak with forked tongue?

VRS is an awesome car but would be in another league with 4WD (the only thing I miss about my old car, handling was far superior).:rubchin:

Hope someone can help. Cheers.
