Octy II VRS and Child Seats

Featured Replies

Morning All,

Just wondering if anyone else has the same problem as me with the Octy VRS (2009 CR TDI Estate).

We currently have a Hauck travel system that comes with a car seat however it seems that the seatbelt in the back of the VRS isn't long enough to hold the included car seat in place in the way the manufacturers describe. Am I being dense or do others have this problem? I'm putting him in the pasenger side rather than the drivers side. Do the seatbelts in the back have different lengths on either side?

Thanks

Mike

Hi Mike,

I've seen this problem with other cars. Our car seat fits fine in our car but when we tried to put it in the mother-in-law's Nissan Primera estate the rear seat belts were too short to reach.

I had no problem fitting our car seat to a FL 2009 Octy estate during our test drive - it wasn't a vrs though :)

Is the Octavia listed by them as compatible?

Not had a problem with our seat, used a Silver Cross one that came with the travel system. Your seat must be quite big then.

On SWMBO's Jazz, I found that sometimes belts were stopped early from full excursion, when pulled from an angle the belt mechanism wouldn't like... When it happens, only cure is to get belt fully back and restart, gently, from the beginning.

Had no problems with the 3 seats we used on the Octy, bynow.

Stating the obvious but I assume your seat isn't ISOFIX compatible?
