Chuffed!

Featured Replies

Hi peeps sold my S3 in a private sale!! So I saw a Skoda Fabia vRS for sale privatly, went to see it and it was everything I hoped it was perfect condition not ragged! Its a 53 plate black vRS standard apart from ESP (I think) 10k just had first service I picked it up for 9.9k! So I'm impressed with that too! Was very impressed with the standard performance and torque is fantasic but went down to AmD and got the one click chip, its made a fantastic difference its a very fast car now (traction control works over time tho!) and this is coming from someone who owned a 269bhp S3! Its not that far off it at all, fuel economy is superb get 63mpg on the motorway and around 49mpg around town, I reckon its the best car I've owned!

Welcome :)

Reading little reviews like that always put a smile on my face, glad your enjoying it

Welcome, I think perhaps you payed a little too much for a car of that age, but you have to wait to get a new one, and if you like it, that is all that matters.

Really? Sounded like a good price to me and a quick search on Skoda's used car site seems to confirm that :D

Chris

Well a 53 plate means it is about a year old. A car the size of a Fabia will be down to about 33-40% new value after 3 years, so I would expect about 30% drop in 1 year, so would say

William the vRS's are holding up well .. its a pretty good price.. particularly as the condition sounds A1

aslong as the wheels are round

Diesel engined cars also hold their value better - with 10k on the clock it will have plenty of life left in it, and will be as good as new. And dealers aren't going to have to discount to shift them...it's all good for residuals!

Rob.

You can't really make generalisations about depreciation, based purely on the size of the car. For instance, Citroens and Fiats tend to haemorrage money, whereas there are quite a few 'hot hatches' that keep their value very well.

It's a question of supply and demand. There's currently a great deal of demand for the Fabia vRS, so prices will remain high.

You only have to look at the Mini to see that residuals aren't size-dependent. I drove a Fabia TDi with 100 bhp, and actually thought it was adequate for my needs, but I went for the vRS because I suspect it will have better residuals in the medium/long term. After all, it's cheap in the first place, insurance is very reasonable, it's quick and it's economical. You can't really ask for a lot more, in this class of car.

I'm glad you, mlike it. Mine still makes me grin every time I get in it. :D

I'm glad you like it. People still grin and laugh at me every time I get in it. :D

As I say the main thing is he/she is happy with the car.

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Hmmmmmm

Welcome to Briskoda mate, glad you like the One Click, should please a few people on here as there is a group buy on them atm.

Im guessing the S3 was modded by AmD? If so i may well have seen you down there as I used to work there :)

Cheers

No Ross afraid not, the S3 was done by APR at Awesome Gti, but they are not offering anything half as good as AmD at the mo so thats why I went there! I personally think its a good price to pay, I don't consider it even worn in yet! nor would I consider it old its a year old today infact! I used to own a Mark 1 Golf that was 23 years old! Still an amazing car that can draw the crowds, A car (like yourself) is as old as you feel (if well looked after!)

I would also look at Revo and speak to Star before deciding.

Autocar will be realising their long term test car, and in their report, they were extremely happy with it and several of the office will be sad to see it go.

They have quoted that after 12 months they will only loose
