Stream MP3 Radio

Featured Replies

I have read on here about the "hidden menu" obtainable by holding the menu button for 10 seconds or longer. I have also read that on this menu is "ANT ON" displays in the top left corner.

On my radio "ANT OFF" is displayed, underneath this is the current radio statio selected and underneath this is "Q POOR" with a rising ramp type scale showing about 33.3% it is not adjustable.

Radio reception is good.. Should I worry about "ANT OFF" and "Q POOR?"

Ant off means that the booster on the aerial base has failed, its a common failure as water seems to get in causing the electronics to rust. your reception might sound ok, because the unit switches to "MONO" from stereo when the signal drops below a certain level and this hides the poor stereo reception.

Thanks for the info.

Any idea how to get to this component and is it a DIY fix?

Its a common part fitted across VW/Seat/Audi. I dont think its to expensive to buy, and it is DIY'able but you need to lower the rear headlining to get at the retaining nut and aerial connector.

There was a thread somewhere with pictures of someone who had opened up the aerial base, cleaned off the corrosion, sealed the unit with silicone and got it working ok.
