The smell of vomit never seems to go....LOL

Featured Replies

Had my 5 year old in the front of my motor the other day, he'd been feeling pretty crappy all day and 10 mins into the drive - through a single lane 2 mile stretch of roadworks, he honked!

Poor little guy, I felt bad for him but thought it'll be OK because it went in his lap and he was on a child booster seat so it would catch it. Ohhh no - the seat has holes for a strap which the sick naturally drained through!

Does anyone know a good cleaning solution?

Sorry for the unpleasant post, but I'm sure those with youngsters will know where I'm coming from

Thanks in advance y'all ;)

Vanish probably do something, i've just been using their spray mousse carpet cleaner to remove cat sick, works a treat, even got rid of some marks on a rug that proper carpet shampoo couldn't shift

Bar Keeper's Friend is probably worth a look.

Maybe only on hard surfaces though, so check the label first.

Do you know anyone with a Vax?

Put him up for adoption? That'll teach him to respect the Skoda! :D

My better half says: tell him Fairy non-bio & warm water then let it dry & spray with Febreze fabric spray...

Sounds like a plan - Have those in the cupboard so no need to spend money!

BTW, my eldest was sat in the back and when we stopped, he got out and honked....Got him trained well!!

Chances are it will have gotten into the seat base foam bolster so any amount of surface fabric cleaner will not rid you of the odour, the only sure way is to change the foam bolster.

Start carrying a box of medium sized freezer bags in the car, For times like these!

Clean and Febreze, The smell will eventually fade away, Try a couple of Neutradol gel air freshners to disguise the odour on the mean time!

Thanks, Mike. But the problem was it happened so quick I'd never have time to get to them! May just do it for future though; in case I hear the 'I don't feel very well'

Poor lad, I still dont think my sister has forgiven me for doing something similar in her first car, lol.

I think bicarbonate of soda is one of the best things for removing smells. Rub it in the area and then just get some a very weak solution of washing power or washing up liquid and wipe of the excess may take a few attempts to get rid of the smell.

Thanks for your replies, guys. I took Simbo's advice - mainly becasue I had all the stuff to hand.

Did it first thing this morning and smell seems to have gone.

Pass my thanks to your better half, Simbo ;)
