Possible clutch problem????

Featured Replies

My wifes car superb 1.9tdi 130,classic has developed a problem, when she is driving it she says that sometimes it just reves as if its out of gear, could this be the clutch slipping, the car has had a clutch in the past at around 100K its now on 179K

are the clutches cabble or fluid activated

Yes it does sound like the clutch, they are hydraulic (same reservoir as the brakes)

Wife took car to garage this morning, it was confirmed DMF on the way out, John the owner said he is going to try and find a solid flywheel and clutch in its place as it would be a lot cheaper

We had the good news £868 for a new DMF and clutch fitted, ouch, clutch was half worn so we told them to fit a new one as there was little point refitting the part worn one.

He could not find a solid replacement kit in time is there one available

I know there is for the 1.9PD 105 Octavia as i have one fitted to mine from dealer under warranty. As for the Superb iam not sure if they are the same.Maybe VW did one for the Passat 1.9 130?
