how is the 'sport' spoiler fitted?

Featured Replies

Hey all, I have got my mitts on a spoiler from a Sport Octy for my own Octy, and Im wondering, can anyone advise how its supposed to be fitted? is there a fitting kit? or is it simply bonded, and if so can someone recommend a bonding agent so it doesnt end up flying off!

bump!

It is bonded with special sealant.Wurth have some good sealers, even screen sealer is good, sealers have a drying time of appx 24 hours.Be sure to apply the primer before on the spoiler and the tailgate, usually this comes with the sealer kit in a small tin.

My Octavia had this spoiler factoryfitted. But I found the installation manual and certificate among all the paperwork. This has now been scanned and I can send you a copy (in pdf) if you PM me your e-mail.

Only bonded

this is shocking, i thought it must be bolted down, my earlier car was a hyundai elantra, it had the rear spoiler bolter to the trunk..

Why is it Shocking ??,when bonded properly sealant is very, very strong,Windscreens of new cars are bonded, never heard of anything flying off at high speeds ....
