Vrs front drivers power window switch

Featured Replies

Help..... Went to close the window the other evening and the switch on the drivers door has just broken.. Feels like it has come off from the rocker mechanism. Can you remove just the unit with all the switches in or does the door card have to come off? Cheers:thumbup:

ANYONE? Any diagrams or how to's regarding getting these switches off?

The switch unit should all lift out. It comes out before the door trim comes off.

This is covered in a Haynes manual, if you have one iirc ther is a rubber strip at the back of the switch unit which you pull off, and then you can prise the whole switch assembly unit straight up.

:+1: I am sure that a quick search on here says how to get those switches out, as many people need to take their door trims off when changing speakers, replacing broken door release cables, etc.

No i didnt think bold would but when the cars sat outside the house over 2 nights including bonfire night with the window stuck down you start worrying funnily enough. Regardless it made you reply anyway so it had some effect...Thanks anyway.

Haven't you got that "lock door with key and everything closes" gadget?

I had to use that when I thought I couldn't get the sunroof to close.

Turns out it was closed, just looks open from the inside.:o

Not the effect you were after though is it.

Pretty sure that is standard across all octys.....

The vRS should have the closure feature. Put your key in the door lock, and turn and then hold the key in the lock position. The window should start to close afer about 1/2 second, keep holding until the window is fully closed.
