wiper blades

Featured Replies

This should be the last thing i need now. the wiper blades i have fitted now are pants no good at 60mph to much wind and the dont clear the screen well. they are nothing special just bog standard ones.

anyone using some good ones ? i was told the lay flat ones are really good but not sure what they are thanks for any ideas

mk4 Golf aero blades are what you want. It does involve replacement wiper arms as well as the blades so not the cheapest of routes to take, but they look good and work well too.

you can get flat blades that fit straight on, on ebay for about £15

You can buy these aero wiper types from here: WiperBlades.co.uk . A lot of people on this forum have done.

If you live oop norf, then you could try a place called Andrew Page, they sell all Bosch parts. I got mine from there and they were cheaper than the web. :D

£10 inc delivery ebay jobbies for me! Can't fault them, clear well even at motorway speeds. I think they intergrate quite well to boot. Been on about a month now too with no sign of detrioration. I clean my car frequently though, so perhaps that's why as the dirt doesn't have chance to build up. One is 21" one is 19".

I use these.

Yes they cost more than the ebay specials, but I truly believe you get what you pay for. I'm the same with tyres and other consumables. They cost a bit more for a reason.

this is what you want mate, they are £60ish for the lot(arms and blades new)

but they also reduce wind noise quite a bit mate,

thought I had a close up, mmmm Ill look for it but till then you can just see them on this one.

I had Skoda parts fitted during a service:

S1J0998003 Front wiper set £14.96 + vat

S1U9955425B Wiper blade [for estate] £5.75 + vat

No additional charge for fitting. Total cost £23.82

I thought that was good value for genuine parts and, at last, I have a rear wiper that actually clears the whole arc on the curved rear window of my estate.

Having used Bosch Aero Twin wipers before, in my experience they are in no way more efficent than the ebay alternatives. Just over double the price for the "Bosch" logo on them. Just my opinion though, perhaps i've been lucky.

I started using 'rain off' on mine recently and have been very impressed (tbh it's a cheap swedish version called x-rain but it's the same stuff). Above 60mph at night and I don't have to use the wipers at all! Very surprised. Oh yes, and I went for the bosch aero retro blades too.
