Chris Knott - SHOCKING!

Featured Replies

My partner called Chris Knott the other day expecting to have an easy ride for the re-insure........

First they couldn't find the model of car in their listing.

The actual quote from the guy on the phone was "you've got a what?" when my partner stated she wanted a quote for an Octavia VRS 170 CR Diesel,

Then he started getting funny because she is the registered keeper but wanted me as the main driver with the policy in her name. This is not rocket science and we've never had an issue from any other insurer in the past.

They also seemed very sketchy about Briskoda being affilited and implied that they would sort the driver/policy query as a bit of a favour! Cheeky buggers!!

One has to ask are Chris Knott really a "valued partner" or not and if so, would it not be too much to expect them to know what an Octavia VRS Diesel was in the first place?

I'm afraid I'll be going to a different insurer.......:thumbdwn::thumbdwn::thumbdwn::thumbdwn::thumbdwn:

When I had volvos and was a member of the volvo owners club, I had a remarkably similar experience...

I didn't have an issue with them insuring a VW as a member of a Skoda owners club?

Wow - thats an eye opener as Ive only ever had superb service from them; and Ive been with them for the last six cars!

Don't suppose you know the name of the guy you were dealing with do you? (Think mine began with an M)

I had a very similar experience the other day and ended up saying I wasn't interested and ending the call.

Made me decide I didn't want to be insured with them, even though SWMBO was.

Even she had a few issues when she tried to renew as the man she spoke to said no we won't price match comparison site quotes, even though their website said so.

She called back later with the full quote, spoke to another person who couldn't have been more helpful and went with them

Really seems like they have at least one bad apple there who is not helping their reputation one bit.

I must say that is completely the opposite to my experience with them. I remember thinking at the time how helpful they were compared to the usual big insurers.

Maybe as has been suggested some of their staff aren't as good as they should be.

I had no problems with them at all - I used to use them to insure my Alfa as part of the Alfa Owners Club - although the club was rubbish so I stopped being a member they still gave me the discount. Very helpful and very competitive - SWMBO has her car insured with them at the moment I think, although for some reason they were no where near competitive for my car this year.

Like I said, bad apple and somebody needs either retraining or removing from the staff IMHO.

Yep - he emailed my partner the quote but I'm not sure its fair to post on here. If anybody from Chris Knott is reading this perhaps they could PM me and I'll pass the details on.

But how would you know whether you were PM’ing with the good Chris Knott or the bad Chris Knott?

Seeing as im coming up to renewal time for my insurance, this has now made me think about wether to insure my car with Chris Knott.

I've been with Adrian Flux for the past 3-4 years, and i've been more than happy with there service. It will be interesting to see what sort of service i recieve over the phone.

which skoda owners club are you a member of??

which skoda owners club are you a member of??

I got a Briskoda discount.

I was unimpressed with the woman I spoke to at Chris Knott. I went elsewhere for 20 quid more simply because they were so much nicer to deal with on the phone.

I gave up trying to get a quote from them when I was about to get the remap done. There was never anyone to take my call and the promised callbacks never materialised. Ho hum.

EDIT: Just to add - no trouble getting through to Adrian Flux but their quote was astronomical - more than £200 than I ended up paying via Admiral!

:+1: - they're getting publically slaughtered really, with no representation on here to at least explain themselves!

Hi

I've just been shown this thread as it's my job to ensure the smooth running of the affiliation!

I will hopefully be able to relaunch this scheme under the new system but i'll contact admin regarding that.

I would appreciate you pm-ing me with the details please because we are often praised on other forums so i was sad to see this comment. You only need to google our name to see proof of this.

I'm sorry you've encountered difficulty but it may just have been a misunderstanding of personalities because forum members are our 'bread & butter' and we wouldn't want to jeopardise that especially as the scheme is so successful.
