Recent DSG box Problems

Featured Replies

OK, from another thread it appears my new VRS TSI will have a six speed DSG box.

Having read other threads about problems with DSG boxes they all seem woefully out of date. Has anyone any knowledge or experience of problems with the DSG box on any VAG cars built in, lets say last 12 months.

I order my car with DSG and have been a bit unsure about it. I have borrowed a DSG touran for a bit and am so glad i have order my car with DSG as it the best gear box i have ever used. Just gets on with it in the back ground and has no sluring and completely smouth. The car has only done 1200 miles tho.

About three years back we had some Touran TDI sports DSG's at work and to be honest I didn't really notice any difference from a normal Automatic. Although the gear lever said DSG on I wasn't sure if it actually was one and didn't really pay much attention at the time.

Not long after that I got my Audi with Multitronic box because I was sick of crawling in traffic and changing from 1st to 2nd, The Multitronic box is fantastic with no noticable change in gear.

Having had that, I said I would never have another manual car and so ordered my VRS with DSG. Didn't actually test drive a DSG because no one had one. What can I expect?

Had two d.s.g. golf170 and a skodaVrs never had any probs,I'd never go back to a manual, enjoy.

just had the mechatronics replaced on my 2008 passat
