Octavia II VRS Limited Edition Stereo Connectors

Featured Replies

Picked up my new Skoda LE no 416 and very happy with it so far, but if anyone can help me with the stereo, or rather fitting a after market SAT NAV with TMC cable into the inline aerial loop so TMC is amplified that would be awesome!

Ive scoured the net over the last month looking for a splitter cable with the same connectors and cant find anything. Im not even entirely sure what the connectors used in the new skodas are. Are they called FAKRA connectors?

So far i have removed the stereo and there are 2 cables that connect into the back of the stereo on a white plastic block. If you are facing the front facia they are on the back at the bottom right.

I have removed the 2 black cables from the white plastic casing and tried poking the TMC aerial into each of them with not much luck :P My stereo only seems to need one of the aerial inputs (the one on right) to work properly but id like to end up having both inpuits to my stereo and have my TMC working nicely on my satnav, hopefully using some sort of splitter cable.

Has anyone done this successfully or does anyone know where i can buy the correct splitter cables? Also what are these cables connectors called? I may have more luck with google if i knew the correct name of em :)

Thanks in advance

hrm not exactly what i am after, but this MAY work. If this will free up one of my antenna connectors that mean i can use the other for my SAT NAV.

Can anyone confirm if the two antenna inputs that plug into the stereo are the same? is one FM and one AM or something? im hoping that they are both the same

If they are identical then im pretty sure i can ue the box o tricks.

What Sat Nav is it? ..if it's a Columbus there are three inputs, the blue one is for a GPS antenna, the 2 white ones - the inner most is FM+TMC, the outermost is AM. With either the Kufatec or Skodateile adapter you get AM+FM+TMC & you need to use a seperate GPS antenna.

Its a Navigon after market Sat NAV.

The satnav just uses a length of cable on the cigarette charger as an FM arial. i was hoping to take this cable and get it connected up to the car arial somehow.

This is the charger i am using:

http://www.google.co.uk/products/catalog?hl=en&q=navigon+charger+tmc&cid=2434820112722694570&sa=title#p

Basically i wanna strip the arial bit (literally a bit of cable) and get it connectwed up to the car antenna loop
