How to change Fuel filter

Featured Replies

Hi, Can anyone please help. I'm planning to change the fuel filter on my Fabia vRS but i can't find any threads on this procedure or even where the unit is located? I may be just missing it but I really don't think so.

Is there anybody out there who can help or at least point me in the right direction.

I'm a reasonably competent home mechanic so I assume its a job I can carry out (and yes i've read all the threads about the fun of repriming the system after changing

Thanks

Its right in front of you! (well bottom left hand side of engine bay) To fit it is self explanatory...

Right, now i feel a bit daft. Thankyou very much indeed:thumbup:

Just one more quick question... is there any recommended order to take the hoses off or does it not really matter?

Not that I remember. Obviously pinch up the hoses as you remove them, and fill the new filter with fuel to avoid any airlocks...

Hello newvRSboy, As ap0gee as said, adding no need to bleed system (just keep cranking engine over), till engine starts. Just lever metal filter out, (flat blade screwdriver will do) as it's sat in a plastic cage inside that outer metal casing you see. Watch-out for small spillage with some rags handy, when removing fuel pipes.Removal/replacing pipes in any order. Two rubber rings, blue & black, note order of position. Good-luck.
