Changing Gears

Featured Replies

All,Im wondering if anyone has any issues with the gear change in 6 speed manual. It doesnt seem to change very smoothly. It feels like there is something loose where at the gear stick. Then last week I couldnt change gear at all. I had drove through a flash of water no more than 4-5 inches. Very slow in low gear.I dont know if this is related or not. If the water had effected being able to change any gear what would have been effected.I left the car run for 2 mins and could select gear no problem but he issue at the top was still there.Any Ideas anyone..D

I have no experience with the Super, but it is the same 6-speed in all Octy, Super and Yeti with the 140 and 170 hp diesels. I have an Octy with the 140 PD, and after 80,000 miles, the shift is as smooth as ever. You may feel the 1 to 2 shift a little awkward in a RH drive vehicle, but you know that.I suspect thatthe ratios are all the same also, as they are matched to the torque curves and the overall ratio can be adjusted with the final drive ratio. It must be something with that particular car - go yell at the dealer :)

is it possible that when driving through the flood water that something has become lodged in the gear linkages, some debris or similllar.
