Forge Strut Brace

Featured Replies

I only have the rear internal brace from Forge, but the one you link to would be a straight forward DIY job TBH. There'll be handy instructions from forge too.

They are a simple Diy Fit, Although the Forge Fitment is not the Best, They foul on the Airbox & Engine Cover & then Chatter Away ....The Seat Ibiza sport brace is a perfect fit & just as simple to fit at a V similar price & In my eye's looks much better also, once you have removed the Seat Sticker ....Part No;s for it are on here..CheersDean

Here you go ..Ibiza MOMO Strut Brace - 6L0 071 710 - £53.83 inc VAT (updated 17/03/09)

That's great thanks, i think i will be going with the MOMO one then! Does the Strut brace really make a big difference?

I presume they all come in Red?

Thanks,

Dave

Yep, if you want one - get the Seat one. The Forge one is a lovely bit of kit, but it just doesn't fit as well.

However, I never fitted any upper front strut brace to my 2nd Fabia; I just didn't think it made any difference to the turn-in and handling. Some others disagree, so it is something that divides opinion somewhat. A bit of a 'Marmite' mod really :)

I on the other hand would say go for it. IMHO it sharpened up the front end of mine a treat.

swings & roundabouts, 6 and 2 3's etc etc :)

I fancy a momo one too... I like the looks of the forge unit but have heard

elsewhere on here that the air filter is a bleeder to change one the forge unit

is on.... Somebody on here got their momo one powder coated green and applied

a skoda motorsport decal to it... It looked great.

I hope you're listening Santa.... hehe

What do you think of the rear brace?! Is it worth spending the cash on?!I found the Momo brace on the front tightened the front end up quite a bit, a little sharper too.

I noticed a diferrence coupled with the Jabba ARB. I'm sure there'll be others that'll say it made no difference at all. It felt as if the back end was tighter and "followed" the front end more positively if that makes sense

If I were you, buy one, if you don't like it you can always sell it on and recoup most of your cash.

Mine doesn't it fits perfect :D

Rear ARB is a great mod. It should be made compulsory ;)

forge strut brace requires a small notch cutting out of it to fit perfectly, but it is well worth doing as it looks loads better than the seat sport brace

Can the benefits of fitting a strut housing brace be felt with a before and after effect? Under normal road conditions is it a real advantage to fit a strut brace? Is the purpose of the strut brace limiting top of strut from moving inwards to engine bay?If forces did try to move one strut inwards, held by 3 or 4 bolts, the shock surely be transferred through strut brace and push opposite strut outwards? thus defeating purpose of strut brace.? Input is welcomed from everyone.

a strut brace on the vrs actually has a negative affect on handling, the car understeers natrually so bracing the chassis actually makes this problem worse,it all balences out a touch when you get the jabba rarb on tho
