Yeti vs. Qashqai

Featured Replies

And the Quashqai won for the first time! and i so didn't want it to be the case. What a nightmare it was trying to order a 1.2 TSI DSG. Lomabrd took my order then Skoda UK confirmed that they were taking but NOT placing orders for these models until Feb 2010. And the earliest UK delivery was March-April 2010. VW are having a lot of problems due to demands on all petrol TSI engines. Be warned. In response to the Yeti it seems Nissan have stepped up their game. I was quoted £20 month less than 1.2 TSI S manual by Lombard for Quashqai 1.6 N-tec. c/w. Climate control, Panoramic sunroof, Sat Nav, Reversing Camera, Bluetooth, Heated Seats, 18" alloys, rain sensors, cruise control, folding mirrors, etc. That spec demolished a Yeti SE spec, let alone an S.Ok It's not a cute or probably not as well built as a Yeti - but it's a UK made vehicle, and available in 12 weeks from order.

can't blame you. Nissan are very aggressive on spec. and pricing, they have to be with most their models over 160g/km CO2 some companies won't even allow them on their lists now. My company gives a big financial incentive to choose a car under.Despite high discounts, the trust in Japanese reliability (even when made in Sunderland!) is attractive to the used market and has helped keep residual values respectable, also helping keep leases down. Its number 3 on my 'possible' list.

FWIW it's a very nicely built car, at least from a passenger perspective.

Leather seating is very very nice.

Pleased to see you have managed to find a car and deal to suit your needs. Shame it's not the Yeti but the model you wanted is not quite available and the Sunderland car does look attractive with that spec.

Oh have they brought out the facelift yet, know one is in the pipeline for the Qashqai; interior changes, front end and rear lights plus some mechanical I believe.

blimey! i just googled it, and yes there is some revisions coming in 2010!!! i've just placed the order this afternoon. I can't believe the bad luck i am having with ordering a new car at the moment. Maybe that's why the Qashqai was so cheap!! i looked on the system 2 months ago it was £350 a month, with the all hassle i was having with Skoda i looked up the Nissan list again yesterday and it was down to an astonishing £283 a month. By the sounds i only got the deal due to an immenent new model!!

I wouldn't worry, its likely to be a very minor freshen up and as the N-Tec is loaded to its teeth I doubt if you will be missing out on any extra kit.Its not out until the summer so I doubt if the price drop on yours is to do with clearance. More likely its a reaction to a few things, a lot of Qashqai go into the company car market but as mentioned its hindered by its CO2 levels. What with the Yeti doing well, a revised CR-V launching, the Toyota RAV4 has just been tweaked below 160g/km, then there is the new Peugeot 3008 crossover in direct competition - thing are hotting up in the sector so Nissan are just putting up a price fight!

Must ssy I like the Qashqai, but if I ever bought such a vehicle it would be a 4x4 variety and the weight/fuel penelty on the Qashqai is rediculous.

The Qashqai has been winning tests and gaining plaudits ever since it came out. A thoroughly good car, I am sure you will not be disappointed.

QQ just been named as the slowest depreciator in its class - which may be why the rental has been reflected downward ?

thanks for all your replies and words or encouragement. I do prefer the Yeti and it would be a better drive and more economical. .

However, the Qashqai is for my wife and she only does 8k miles a year - she'll appreciate all the gadgets more than the performance. .

My Passat 2.0 TDI DSG is up for replacement in May 2010 so i might be a Yeti owner yet! Hopefully then they will have that lump and box in the Yeti then. Good luck with all your cars. See you next year!
