LCR fitting guide

Featured Replies

I have tried to search but drawn a blank. How much do i have to cut off. I know about plastic self tappers and taking the bumper off first Thanks

just cut the tabs of the splitter pre drill the holes on the splitter, then jack the car no need to take bumper off line it up and then i just taped it on to hold it there then just screwed it on,10 min job max.

all you do is take the 2 centre ones down so you have 3-4 mm left above the thin plastic in the middle and on the outer clips just file the top off them.

you will need to cut V in it too so you can bend it round the bumper.

its a shame you are all way up there mate, I could of done it lol

pics when fitted too ;)

When I put mine on I shortened a jig-saw blade and where I need to get it to bend I made lots of cuts so it curved nicely. Pain in the rear to do, this is maybe why I've not bothered replacing it after I caught it on a STUPID speed bump.

Well i didn't bother with the cutting and shapping.

Cut the tab's off the uprights and fitted it in place

I found if you send a bit of time to do the cuts it follows the lines of the bumper better making it look more like a standard part. Each to their own, they still look good until they get knocked on a kerb or speed bump. Think I'll get another ordered from trade parts specialists after xmas.

Agree, I did this to mine. It follows the line of the centre bumper better when you cut down the 2 centre posts, just enough to leave the flat plastic section in place to screw it up to the bumper.

There are a few fitting guides on here and more in the Furby section.

This is whay mine looks like now.

I shaved some off the centres but left about 3mm on top of the flat plastic bits so it bows down a slight bit unlike the first attempt at the bottom were I cut it down to the flat plastic bit and didnt put triangles in it.
