Broken Exhaust

Featured Replies

Hi,

I now have a very throaty sounding 1.9 TDi - the exhaust has broken just behind the catalytic converter :(

My local Skoda dealer has quoted me just under £550 for the downpipe and catalyst (and made me laugh when he said that did include the gasket and a sleeve) which seems a little steep to me. The exhaust system has done 8 1/2 years and 133k with no problems, so to be fair it's done quite well. Does anyone know the best place to source a replacement that isn't going to cost me an arm and a leg? I'll be phoning my local independent tomorrow to see what they can do, but wondered if anyone had any opinions - there's a couple of places online which are a bit more reasonable (£130-ish for a R103 approved cat).

Thanks
