AUDI A3 1.9TDi timing belt change

Featured Replies

Yo peeps...my first post on the new look site, and it's not even Skoda related (but nearly is)... a mate has just acquired an Audi A3 1.9 Tdi on an '07 plate with 75k on the clock, and wants to know when the timing belt needs changing ??

He says it's the lower powered version, so I am guessing it is the 110 bhp variant, as fitted to various VAG group motors, and am assuming it will be the PD engine ??

Can anyone assist please ??

Its hard to give a definative answer now, its best to get him to check with the dealer as all service/belt intervals are car specific now and need to be looked up on elsawin

Won't be a 110 on an 07 plate, most are either about 60k miles (actually 90'000km) or about 80k miles (actually 120,000km) and 4 years for the dervs.

Personally if it's not been done I'd play it safe, but as Ally says, the dealer should be able to give you a definitive answer.

IMHO if it was 110, I would still change it at 60, I just don't trust intervals that long unless its a timing chain plus there water pump etc will have a degree of wear. Not worth the risk in my eyes lol

Thought it would be something along those lines, as my Altea is 60k/ 4years, and would suspect that it will be a similar set-up on the Audi....thanks for the replies :thumbup:

The TDI 110 didn't meet the emissions regulations for 2007, so there is no way it can be a TDI 110

Speak to the dealer as it's most likely at 80k miles/4 years.
