Is there an aftermarket kit

That can be fitted to the screen washers so that they are heated, even useing a 50/50 mix the jets froze the other night

There are spiral hoses that you can wrap around the coolant hoses of the engine.

And Webasto used to make the Hot Shot. This is an extra part that really heats the washer fluid.

AFAIK they stopped producing the Hot Shot, but in the www you can still find some.

I have never had issues with my washer jets freezing, even in the much colder weather in January this year they always worked when required. On the octy, the jets are out of the main airflow over the bonnet so are not as exposed as normal jets on the bonnet. If your jets are freezing it could just be the screenwash you are using. I would try a different brand and see how you get on.

As for screenwash fluid, I always use the brand (sonax) ones that protect up to -50°C. This will give you a good protection against freezing. You can use it unmixed or mixed.

I am a fan of driving abroad, sometimes in verry cold weather and from my experience why this option when ouside is so cold and your liquid will freeze on the glass, so my advice use some screenwash solution that is resistant to low temperature.I presume you dont want something whitch will pop up on your windscreen and then get frost and make it worst for visibilty. Myself I am goint just for the screenwash fluid not mixed and recomend this.

had nightmare in getmany wth this happening, resorted to neat fluid in the end

You can buy OEM ones that are heated and replace the none heated ones with these.

The only thing you then need to do is get them wired in with the heated rear windscreen control, or possibly even the OEM wiring location if it's there on your car.

The latter is obviously the preferred option.

In my experience as already said, if its really that cold the fluid is freezing, unless you have an electric heated windscreen, the fluid just turns to ice when it hits the glass. One thing I miss from my Ford Focus - Heated Washer Jets and Heated Windscreen
