Week of ownership - few questions

Featured Replies

Owned my petrol FL vRS for a week now and overall am pleased despite not going for any options. Put 550 miles on it so far.

Anyway, a couple of questions.

1) In second and third from about 2.8k revs I can here a whine. Its not particularly loud but now I'm hearing it I keep concentrating on it! I'm thinking this maybe the turbo however im starting to worry it may be something more sinistier. ( Coming from a Fabia vRS where the turbo had much more a whistle.)

2) When pulling away in first ive noticed a slight hesitancy, its minimal and the car never stalls but I feel the need to give it extra revs. Willing to concede this could just me adapting to the new car.

3) Also while pulling away I feel something through the clutch pedal, hard to descibe but maybe a slight vibration or dragging feel.

4) I have a squeek! It's only appeared yesterday and appears to becoming from inside the car somewhere around the left hand rear seat area but I'm struggling to pin it down.

I'm hoping most of this is just me nervousness with the new car. I'm desperate to like it after enjoying my Fabia for 3 years but right now its just not clicking.

Thought I'd update my own thread :p

1) Just me being over concerned with a new car - the whine isn't really a whine at all more of a pitch change as the engine seems to come on song. Quite nice actually

2) My driving style after being lazy with a diesel. No problems anymore

3) See above

4) Solved last night. I had put the seats down within the first week to deliver stuff to a friend. I thought I had secured them but on inspection noticed an orange band showing the seats were not clipped correctly. Squeek now gone and very happy :)

Glad everything is sorted!! I too went from a Fabia vRS to a 2.0TFSI Octavia vRS, and it took a while to get used to it! :)
