RS Daytime Running LED

Featured Replies

a friend of mine have a Octavia Facelift 1.6TDI. He have already mounted on

RS front bumper and LED running lights as the RS.

The LED lamps are wired from the stock down in fog lamp

Daytime Running Lights. But this gives only park light function in the

LED lamps.

Anyone else who have done this?

My question wasn't if they look good or not, but if anyone know how to wire them

or VCDS code them.

Only your opinion.,,but to say its stupid is rather rude IMO

A reminder..all cars registered in 2010 have to have daytime running lights as a standard feature

No harm in adding your own is there?

To reply to the OP...If doing this, I would use the sidelight wiring circuit

i didn't know that.... how come? (or are you pulling my leg?... all cars registered?)

Quoting from your link....

"From an environmental point of view, dedicated daytime running light is an effective solution to improve visibility and conspicuity of vehicles. As the technology is especially designed to be used during daytime it is much more effective and efficient than existing lighting devices."

My mind boggles at these Eurocrats sometimes.

I am not sure, I guess the bumper won't fit.

To fit those, you would need, new bumper, wings, bonnet, grill, headlights, foglights and then it should fit fine. The profile of the facelift bumper is very different to the prefacelift.

Think i will give it a miss then.... just keep the head lights on!

I wonder , if your pre facelift Octavia was involved in a front end smash that needed these parts replacing , could you get a dealer to order the facelift parts using your insurance pay out? It would be like a free update for your car! (not that I am advising everyone to smash their cars up to get the 'new look' of course! )

What I parked next to a facelift and sized it up, the lights seem to be very similar in their location and lines with the bumper. The only thing I could see, as the indicators curve on the FL where as the pre-fl are flat. So all that'd be needed is a little filing just before the wheel arch?

I like my Ebay ones:
