Which did you use and why?

CR Turbos; TD didn't seem bothered about selling me a turbo whereas the guy from CR Turbos (mark) was more than helpful when I was asking questions before buying.

I've been in a car with a TD stg2 hybrid and a mild map and it didn't feel better (or worse) than mine when it had a mild/weird map. Things might be different when both have proper bo maps but mine goes alright

Mind me asking how much your hybrid from CR was?

having just dug the invoice out, it was £868.25 inc. VAT (@15%) and delivery. that was a brand new turbo supplied by them

None of them. :) But my new one is "stock". :) No alterations at all done to the turbo.

purely out of interest...what exhaust manifold are you using and was much work needed on the down pipe? what about other (boost?) piping?

:)

3 people with hybrid dervs on Briskoda

i have cr turbos hybrid in, excellent piece of kit, as said above cr turbos always good to deal with, never had any dealing with td though so cant complain, i have 218bhp on a mild map on mine at the minute, going to get a switchable map on it so hopefully will have an ultra economical map and a balls out map hopefully aroung 230-240bhp and 340torque.

Great stuff, that's the sort of info I'm after!

Is that the Stage 2 Turbo from CR I take it? Who did the mapping for you?

Cheers

a crowd for ballymena called autotune done the mapping on it, wouldn't let anyone else in northern ireland look at my car, this guy knows his stuff. the 230-240brake is only a prediction we have to wait and see if he gets near to it.

Anybody else got feedback on any of the companies?

I had them map my standard vrs earlier on today. Ryan certainly seems to know his stuff. Overall figures are not amazing - 161.2bhp and 277 lbft (136bhp and 226.9 lb ft beforehand), but way the car feels now is great! Wasn't interested in an "aggressive map" as the car is still on the standard clutch and turbo and don't fancy either of the above expiring in the immediate future (lack of funds!) He said he brought the turbo up to 1.6 bar but didn't really want to go beyond that. Was nice to go somewhere that was able to tailor the map to what I wanted as opposed to going for headline figures and something going bang a few miles down the road.

Car feels so lively now, but unfortunately the roads round our way aren't really conducive to heavy right foots at the minute! :'(

Just out of curiosity. Roughly how much would getting a hybrid turbo cost in terms of buying the turbo and associated labour and setting up? It's just something to consider in the future.... ;)

TD Stage 2 here... brand new unit, with remap gets me my sig figures..

How much did it cost you if you dont mind me asking ?

£1065 inc vat and p&p

pd150 hybrid from turbo technics is £970 i like it, just the turbo and a map put mine up to 202bhp

Had a stage 1 and later a stage 2 from TD, no problems - don't know the other company, but hey, if they're good as well, then no problem :)

From what I've gathered they all seem to build a pretty similar turbo so I should be in good hands.

Looking forward to joining the hybrid club :)

Cheers folks
