when i start up my laptops it says press F2 or F12 to access certain things, can anybody tell if all the "F" numbers do a similar thing, and also what can i access when pressing these F numbers at boot

Usually only a couple of the F buttons work and its normally to access the BIOS and startup disk options.

F8 - safe mode :)

May also let you into recovery areas etc. :D

Seem to remember on my oldesteam driven Compaq F10 got you into setup .

F4+F7 opens a portal to another Dimension*
