Van Aaken

Featured Replies

Has anyone heard of these tuners as they do a smart box for my new car which involves swapping the ecu but also means you can swap it back come service time.

The new cars not a Skoda but it is turbo diesel and the increase it gives to the standard 150bhp is about 28bhp so it would get me back to my pre revo'd vrs days.

Cheers

I will post in depth about the swapping of my car but if anyone purchases a Black Octavia VRS FG53 with 24k on the clock give me a pm

Van Aaken have been around for years, mainly known for diesel tuning, never heard anything bad about them and they have done some nice demo cars over the years (before diesel performance was "normal").

It's a shame they don't do anything for the Fabia VRS as they do for the other skoda diesels

I believe the Van Aaken unit is a tuning box, it doesnt replace your ECU but will plug in-line with it and is removable at service time.

I've run a Van Aaken tuning box on the fabia Vrs when I first got it.

The unit goes inline to the pump, and is a matter of just disconnecting one plug and connecting the unit between them.

It did give an improvement in performance, however this was proportional to the extra smoke the car would kick out. - A lot of smoke if you booted it!

Stopped using it in the end because of the smoke output, preferring to go back to the standard car. I then sold the unit and the proceeds went to paying for a remap which wasn't so smoke generating.

A friend of mine had one on his 206 (his was the first one to have it) He thought it was excellent.
