That's impressive - the display shows that the system is going to park the car in a space the same length as the car! :D

Thats the first time Ive seen maxidot in such detail - are the pre FL cars similar in regards to maxidot functions?

It was far simpler on the pre-FL!

I have a 08 reg VRS with maxidot

If i fitted a Skoda headunit with nav and bluetooth would it would the same as the pics?

And when reverse is engaged it knocks 7k miles off the odo, drops the outside temp by 12 degrees, and cools the engine!! :D

Slightly different as most of the pictures above are of FL cars. Here is what mine looks like (Ignore the PRNDS obviously):

The navigation picture posted by Phil is a bit misleading as he was offroad when the picture was taken. You still get the same directions, roundabouts, arrows, exits, ETA, distance etc.

Wow that extra display looks cool!!!

If you select a screen--- say oil temperature. Does it remember that screen when the engine has been turned off, or does it revert back to the default screen the next time the car is started?

It remembers.

I have large MPH enabled and it stays on that after engine on (after pressing 'back' from the phone screen which appears when the phone connects - unfortunately nothing I can do to stop this happening)

Regarding non-Maxidot displys in S and SE spec, anyone know if the dashpods are physically different? Can the 'intermediate' trip computer like the SE be activiated in the S spec by VCDS (provided mid or highline steering control module present and appropriate right stalk fitted)?

It's a bit late :), but maybe someone need the info:
There are only two types Octavia 2 FL dashboard (of course, per engine type) in the ETKA (from 2010, I have not checked the earlier ones), one with the simple trip computer and the other with maxidot.
The dumb one with the constant external temp display is exactly the same as the first MFD, the difference is one bit  (17, coding, "Multifunction display installed" bit = 0) and the switches at the end of the right stalk.
The original config was in my LHD O2FL 1.6CRTDI : 1Z0 920 803 S instrument cluster with external temp. display only, no MFD + 5K0 953 569 C steering wheel controller (midline) + 5K0 953 502K stalk (no CC & no MFD switches). (The MaxiDot cluster is 1Z0 920 843 S for this car. Maybe next time.)

It has all the necessary pixels:

I have been changed only the stalk unit to 5K0 953 502N (with CC & MFD switches, 45EUR) and after a five minutes long VCDS game I have cruise control and trip computer.

Taken some better pics of the maxidot with navigation and factory bluetooth.

I didn't think that much of the maxidot when i first got the car but after I retrofitted the nav and bluetooth it really is useful.

I have factory Maxidot and it doesn't do any of this stuff? i have bt not sure if its factory. Balero radio and adaptive xenons.

Yeah the Bolero isn't a sat-nav unit so you obviously won't get the navigation displays.

The BT if factory should display under Phone in the menu. You might not get text messages unless it connects in RSAP mode.
