Will I have problems fitting 17" alloy wheels with an 8" witdh

Featured Replies

Morning all,

I have purchased some Mercedes alloy wheels that have 205/40/17 tyres fitted. The wheels are 5x112, 8" wide and et 37.

I am looking to get 20mm spaces to fit them to my Fabia.

Has anyone fitted similar wheels with the same offsets to there fabia? If so am do you have issues with rubbing etc.?

Any help would be much appreciated.

So they'll be ET17 once you're finished. So yes. They will rub

Just re-read the post - et17 - your screwed!!!

At ET37 they are going to stick out A LOT with 20mm spacers. Overall that gives you an ET17 offset.

You could encounter some arch rub if you lower the car too far. As an idea, this shot of my car is with ET38 wheels, 7.5J ( so add 1/4" outwards) with 15mm spacers (add 5mm too)

The rears will be fine but the fronts will suffer...

I had ET35 on the front and ET15 on the rear on my old Ibiza and they were fine! :)

try finding 15mm adaptors mate, and get some moree stretch and should be good. if the wheels are sexy you can pull it off.. B)

wheels need to be 5 x 100

wheels need to be 5 x 100

Yeah - I think he realises he needs 5x112 to 5x100 adaptors, which are usually not rare to find smaller than 20mm thick. Personally I would hold out for wheels which are ET45+ if you're going to space out 20mm.

Yes I am aware of that. It wouldn't bother me getting adaptors if they were going to fit! Up for sale they go!
