Rear Electric Window Problems

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have an Octavia SLXi 1999, a couple of days ago when I was deicing the car I accidently pushed the electric window button on the drivers door to put the nearside rear window down but nothing happened. Since then all other windows work except the nearside rear window. If I have the lights on you can see the other windows drawing power but the rear one does not, additionally if I stand next to the door, I can hear a faint click when pushing the switch on the door, whether its the switch or not making that sound I do not know, either way I cannot get the window to open.

Any ideas?

Regards

Jon

Turned out it was the motor, off to the scrappy tomorrow to try and salvage another one.

Thanks for the advice, just spent hours in the snow trying to fix it, damn doors lol

Jon

I thought mine was the motor as i was still getting the clicking sound when pressing the button i ended up buying a new motor mechanism then found it was the bloody wires, like you say doors.

Hi all!

Firstly, please forgive me for my bad English, I'm Hungarian.

So..., I have an Octavia Tour. It has 2 electric windows (in the front doors). Can anybody tell me that my central convenience modul (J393) is able to handle four electic windows?

If I buy rear electric window mechanisms with motors and switches(J388, J389), and so buy the switch-panel in the driver's door (for 4 windows), can it be operable?

Thanks for your advice.
