New Scout

Featured Replies

Guys,

The current weather has made me consider getting a Scout again and with DTD offer approx 18.5% off and 2 years 0% for march registration it seems a good idea. But have a couple questions.

- Is there any plan for the scout to get the CR engine?

- When is the next generation octavia due.

- Do I loose anything by retro fitting the satnat as they seem to be approx £550retro vrs £1580 new....

- Do the latest sat nav's show the can image with the parking sensors and the heater controls? Would I loose any of these if I went retro?

- How good are the xeon lights. As on my old scout i didnt rate them really. Great on a level, smooth road, but push on down a slightly bumpy "b" road the lights where constantly leveling, thus not showing much of the road ahead....

Also plan to buy a 4x4 tdi, so if you have one that your thinking of selling let me know. Also might go for a used scout pre fl, but woul have have steering wheel controls as a minimum...

Cheers,

Believe the 140 CR engine is destined for the Octavia in June. Superb switches with the introduction of the Combi in February.

Yes the latest touch screen radios / nav do display parking and heating info, not sure about the retro fit. As a side note certainly with the Yeti anyway, post WK 45 build fitted with Columbus has voice control.

If your looking for used try the SUK used car locator may be a place to start; though exact spec is no always listed, I often find looking at the photos gives some things away such as steering wheel controls, park sensors etc.

can anyone confirm them engine change or sat nav question. Ta

The Columbus is designed for two antennas, one on the roof, the other built into the rear quarter-light (similar to the heated rear window). If you retro fit the Columbus you'll need an antenna adaptor, to restore full radio functionality.

There was a Group Buy for this sometime back, and the topic has been well covered is the past...

The Columbus is £550 stolen, rather than retro.

It would need to have been illegally removed carefully so not to damage it emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

You will loose your integrity  .

Given theft rates on the continent, the unbelieveble bargain price and the location of the seller (I guess you bought it from Eastern Europe), you should feel guilty for all the problems that Columbus thieves are causing in the Netherlands. Utterly shamefull that you are bragging about your potential bargain buy  .

I think you may find the dealers won't be happy to fit them and program them for you unless it's nice and new because of this.
