Right so ive had a feck around and this is what ive found.......All the blu rays in DTS sound great and all the ones in Dolby True HD sound pants!!

Any ideas now then? And remember a marriage and a trip to the South Pacific depends on your answer ;)

Yeah Maldives, Rarotonga, Samoa (if they've put it back together after the Tsunami last year), Tonga maybe.

I want to go to Tonga as it's the only place in the world where you can go swimming in the sea with humpback whales!! Imagine that! Dolphins was exciting enough. Though the fact that the current inhabitants are only a generation or two from being cannibals makes me a little nervous :o

Of course New Zealand is a stunning South Pacific island :D

And the Cook Islands are part of NZ :D

True.....so back on topic.......What ive found is DTS good.....Dollby true HD bad....now i just need to know how to get round kack sound when watching blu rays in Dolby true HD!!

K:)

Just got in and read this. When you say DTS is good, did you mean DTS or DTS Master Audio? In any event it sounds like you have a codec problem and there might not be a work around fix for it. Seems odd that it converts the opposite way to the specs suggest? Will have to have a think about this tomorrow…………………..or today when I get up :D

Yep it seems that the blu rays that have DTS Master Audio sound great but the others in Dolby True HD dont!!......could this be a problem with the player?

K :)

Just a suggestion, but it might be better if you connect the audio out connections on your TV to the amp instead of from the blu-ray player.

Did you try jiwah’s suggestion? I had a look at your user manual and there are an awful lot of parameters than you can fiddle with. It might be worth trying a reset to default and see what happens.

Nah havent tried that yet...will do when i get home tonight :) When it came out of the box the settings were even worse than they are now!!...,if i dont get it sorted tonight then il just have to leave it til i get back from florida in three weeks and see how the spending has gone and maybe an AV amp might be had....even an onkyo amanda;)
