DIY electric window and wing mirror

Featured Replies

Hi guys -

I have a couple of non-urgent niggles with my 03 Fabia that I'm thinking of doing myself:

My off-side wing mirror casing has been knocked off and my passenger electric window is 'crunching'.

I have had the other electric window fixed by Skoda last year (who charged me £190 - Robbery!). Turned out the steel cable was wrapped around the pully and got chewed up. I dont fancy paying to get this other one fixed! Surely getting the right parts and a doing it myself would be cheaper! - Has anyone tried this before and would I find it too hard? - Haven't really worked on a car before :S

The same with the mirror - If I got an off-side mirror from ebay, how hard would it be to fit myself? Has anyone got any advice or tips?

Thanks in advance!
