if you finish this it will be amazing!

what engine is it b16a1 or a2?

First gen japanese b16a so its rated at 160hp.. wanted a b16a5 but the seller didnt want to sell the engine without the the automatic transmission.

Right now all the welding and fabrication is finished. all left to do is the wiring. hope all goes well.

Just one small thought:

If you're sticking that much power into a Favorit, are you uprating the brakes/suspension as well?

Looking good though, that would be a bit of a boy-racer smasher as well ;-)

Yeah..i'm planning to take a page out of TeflomTom's book when it comes to suspension and brakes  ..DIY coilovers and some ford brakes.. i have a friend in Europe that owes me a favor..Just need him to get me the calipers and the shock absorber inserts.

Just taking it one step at a time ;)

There are websites to help with these calculations, but you'll need spring and damper rates increasing to deal with the heavier engine and trans, as well as any "faster driving". You will need to know the masses of both engine and trans combinations for them to help you.

i'm surpised that fits in there so easily, it's certainly a better fit than some other engines where yoiu have to grind off the plate that has the chassis number on it so the engine can fit...

good luck with it, don't forget to seam weld the entire engine bay whilst you are there.

The past couple weeks i havent had time to go to the garage and take pics. but the wireloom is being constructed and is somewhat a pain..

In the meanwhile ive been thinkin y not jus have the car sprayed as well..i'll be sprayin it in blue but a different kind of blue.. kinda like these:

Thinking wheter or not i should paint the bumpers as well..

kinda like the black bumpers..

Of those shades, the Nissan one is called "Bayside Blue", and the Subaru one "Mica Blue".

Interesting to see how this is coming along!

I know what you mean about the black bumpers... Something very 'retro' about them, I wouldn't change them on my Felicia.

I had a Suzuki Swift 1999 in that colour blue, best colour car I've ever had and probably will ever have! Very eye-catching but not in a lime/orange Focus way, still subtle.

Great project!

Yeh, i know the names, just kinda undecided on which one to choose.. the house of Kolors kandy apple blue on the M3 looks nice but its a bit too expensive.. was leaning more to the mica blue

Thanks. I really like the retro look. Hope all goes well with it. B)

I like that colour blue too  I always wanted a Felicia in the Pacific blue they did, never got one tho! Looking forward to seeing the pics on this when you have it complete! I wouldn't have minded sticking a big engine in one of these and then shooting off from the lights away from some chav! I would probably leave it standard on the outside to really confuse them! :smirk:

went to look at the car yesterday and it starts.. sounds so loud and beastly without the full exhaust (just the exhaust manifold, open headers). however the TPS is faulty and i need a master cylinder kit cause it is leaking. A few things here and there to be fixed and it'll be on the road again! :) hopefully within two weeks it will be road ready! sorry i didnt get a video clip or pics but my phone battery was out!

What surprised me was that when i saw the car... the front didnt drop not even one inch...i would have sworn the new engine would have weighed it down atleast an inch! looks like the engine didnt put that much extra weight in it at all. we'll see how everything goes.. gonna upgrade to focus front suspension and golf rear springs later

This sounds great, can't wait to see the pictures

Call me old fashioned but I like the silver more than the black.

Sorted out the haphazard idle rev issues.. sounds good now but its too loud! RPM gauge now works and the temperature gauge works too... hopefully i'll have some pics and maybe a vid for you guys by the beginning of next week. I'll keep you guys posted.

What a weekend it was!!!!

went down to the garage (about a 1.5 hr drive) and found out that the car was no longer starting... well it will start but once it has run for like 10 minutes, the engine shuts off.then it refuses to start. apparently the coil in the distributor was bad so i had to replace that.. what really had me was that me and my bro in law had to basically rewire the whole ecu... alot of wires were in the wrong places..(based on the wiring diagram I had as well as the ecu error codes we were receiving.

When that was sorted out we got the car running and took it for a test drive.. it picked up nicely however there was still another issue we didnt solve... VTEC!

VTEC wont engage unless the ecu registers that the car is moving. seeing that the speedometer was not connected we couldnt hit VTEC. however we came up with a plan of using the speedometer section from an old Honda Civic clusters and try to hook it up in the Skoda cluster to see if it would work.. and it did... might not be the prettiest fabrication but right now it function of fashion! :D

Took it for a spin again.... MAN!!! its worlds apart from the skoda 135 engine! Not super fast but peppy enough for me! Couldnt drive it home tho because of the temp radiator that we put in it.. it leaks.. gonna fit bac the original radiator in it this weekend. (Cant do it during the week because of school!)

I'll take some pics and some videos before and after we install the exhaust!

{Montgomery Burns} Excellent!! {/end}
