service stuff.....

HI all,

Well its that time again i need a service, decided to save a bit of money and get a mate who works for vw to do the service for me.

Im providing the parts and he's doing it at a cheap as chips rate

SO my question is are there any particular bits that people can recommend to use instead of standard parts, i.e: spark plugs, oil etc?

might seem an odd question but after having achat with a 2 mates with conflicting views i thought i'd ask here asim bound to get a more accurate answer!
