Question. Tires/wheels.

I currently have a full set of 185 / 60 / R14 82H tires and alloys. Now as you all probably know there is a bit more room to house some better wheels/ tires ( i think ( i hope! ))

Soooooooo... the question is..

What size wheel and tire can i get on there on the same fixings without messing around too much or worse case scenario that a mechanic can do easy..

Oh and off this subject. any ideas what the loud beeps when the ignition is turned are? No warning lights, no drop in performance. I've eliminated the seat belt, oil, water. Just 4 loud beeps, not sure if it links to a warning light...

For fifteen inch wheels you could go wiith 195/50/15 or 205/50/15, for sixteens you could go for 205/45/16.

I had a 2001 Comfort 1.9TDI that came with 185/60/14s as standard and found the car much better on 205/45/16s, although it did have an adverse effect on fuel consumption.

Can go right up to 17" on 215/40 R17 tyres. It's not recommended to go to 18".

As above, for the best of both worlds, I believe 16" on 205/45 R16 tyres is the best.

Don't know about the beeps - It is a little odd it beeps with no warning lights whatsoever! :wonder:

Is it beeping due to the temperature? I know my 2001 Comfort doesn't, but I think some of them do if it's below 4(?)C.

Thanks for the tire/ wheel info. Is there a good place to get Skoda parts , genuine or otherwise.

There are lights on the dash but they all go off when the engine is actually turned on. Definitely not the temperature as it still does it out of the -5/+5 temperature range.
