Replacing Window Regulator in an 06 Superb

Featured Replies

Hi folks

I need to replace the driver side window regulator in my 06 Superb

Tried searching here for a guide but it all seems so confusing

I can get my hands on an OEM part from TPS which i presume will come like the one pictured in the link below but any info on fitting would be appreciated.

Does the OEM part come like this or is it just a smaller part?

I can remove door card ok but some people say i need to drill rivets when replacing regulator etc?? Confused!!!

Any pointers gratefully accepted !

The image shows passengers side however i need to replace drivers side

Hi there done one of these a few months ago.If the part is supplied with the back plate it makes things a LOT easier as the new one bolts straight on.You have to transfer the window motor from the old panel and put into the new one - three screws if i remember correctly. The job took me a couple of hours and was more fidly than difficult.I remember my mechanic saying he didnt want to touch it because of the drilling you mentioned so i presume sometimes the part comes as just the mechanism which has to be riveted back on. :)

ps is the drivers window switch sticky? i went and replaced the regulator only to find out the switch was at fault

  • 1 month later...

you only have to drill rivots out if the part dont have the silver backing plate, you can buy these parts from german swedish and french for £40 or pay £70 plus vat, these are recommended as the just fit directly into place
