first noticed the car wouldn't lock with the button, so i locked with key

would open with button so i asumed battery done so replaced the battery in the key,

still didnt sort problem out

so got a second hand ignition switch from a polo, which seemed to do the trick, until this morning when it wouldn't lock when i got to my workshop

so got a new ignition swich for it which didn't fix it,

dash lights work when you start and car is fine to drive, so when i stop the car i turn the key to off and the radio is still on as is my phone kit, so could it be the altnator back charging doing this,

i assume the car wont lock as it doesn't think it is turned off

any help or ideas would be nice

has the radio been fitter recently. we have done a few now where the acc circuit is backfed by the radio or a hands free kit

radio has been fitted for 2 years, as has the phone kit. but i have had two amps wired up maybe two months ago, the speakers are whining when turned off and i am waiting for two ground loop isolators to sort this out.

checked my altenator and it seems to be fine charging at 14.5 volts

how was in back feeding the acc circuit?

do you know mark phaffey off ludlow motorsport?
