I am looking to purchase octavia stream stereo system and wondering if it will fit in my 2000 year octavia?

I have litlle storage compartment below my stereo and wondered if i remove this, would STREAM stereo system physically fit inside?

2000, I am guessing it's a Mk1?

It won't fit mate, well not without serious modification. The facia on the Stream is wider at the top than the bottom and is designed for the Mk2 Octy.

If you remove the tray you could fit a double din head unit or an MFD1

Yes mine one is mark 1 shape, year 2000.

Would mark 2 octavias have replaceable centre bit of the dash panael? If so do you think i can replace this to make it fit?

As above, too much hastle. Just get an aftermarket radio or a Synphony with CD changer

the thing is i have already purchased sream stereo before i posted the question, but if you say it will be too much hasle i will stick it on ebay and get at least some of my money back.

Do you know if audi concert older units will fit or even SEAT leon SAT nav unit?

They are both double din units??

The Mk1 Seat leon sat nav unit might fit straight in but I've never seen one to give an definitive answer, your best bet would be to look for the VW mk4 Golf unit or a similar skoda unit.

Hopefully my new STREAM stereo will turn up next week and i might have to do litlle bit of surgery to make it fit. If it turns out to be as nightmare and major operation then i will consider doing something else.

its not just the shape thats the issue, its the canbus. The stream is switched supply is activated via a canbus signal, the mk1 octy cannot provide this so your stream will keep switching off every 1/2 hour as it cant be told that the ignition has been switched on. Then you also need an ISO to quadlock converter.

thanks for your time and opinion i have read some other reports on google and people have mentioned this issue.

I cannot remember what article i was reading but one of them was german-translated and they have mentioned that some emulator box can overcome switching off issue and light in the dark.

Apparently they will turn off half on 30 min and also illumination will not work on side light.
