Custom Sub Boxes

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

I've been in touch with a lad on Edition 38 (Shakey if anyone knows him) who's just started his own ICE business with a view to getting a custom sub box for the rear of my Fabia VRS, he comes highly recommended and his prices are very reasonable. The problem is he needs the car for a few days and he's in Waterlooville, Hampshire and I'm in Hull, Yorkshire so logistically it's a none-starter. However, he says if anyone in the area with a Fabia could drop their car off for him to make the box, he'd provide a car for them to use if they needed one.

Here's what he PM'd me on E38;

'£175 trimmed if there's more than one buddy, I'll need a car for around 3 days, if whoever gives me ther car has the correct insurance they can use my mint s1 rst for the days I have there car to get to work etc.. I'd prefer not to but if they need a ca that can be arranged :)

That price is tailoured to the car and the specific speaker (ie all rebated edges etc), I'm also a jl audio retailer so can supply product if required.

I'm based in waterlooville Portsmouth, I can build these for any car so if there any other interest then jump on it bro'.

I know it's a huge ask - but could anyone help? Or if anyone is interested in having one made for any other Skoda then let me know and I'll try and organise a group buy if possible.

he shouldn't need to look at the car to make a box. all he needs is some measurements and depending on whether the box is going to fit he'll need the angle of the back seat (he might have a list of angles).

as a matter of interest why is the box so expensive cos £175 doesn't sound reasonable to me unless its fibre glass

It is for a fibre glass box custom fitted around the wheel arch in the boot, thus saving as much boot space as possible.

Having done a lot of ringing round £175 for that is cheap I can promise you.
