Servicing and Warranty Work @ an Independant

Featured Replies

Servicing and Warranty Work @ an Independent, has anyone done this with a new car Skoda or other wise? I am soon to purchase a new car. I am not very confident in going to the local Skoda Dealers. I understand that Independent garages can do servicing and warranty work. I have a VAG Independent not very far from me, they have a good reputation. I am considering approaching them to look after my new car when it comes. Does anyone see any pitfalls or problems that may possibly arise or any advice about following that path? Thank you in advance.

Independents cant do warranty work. You'll need a dealer.

Then there's out of warranty good will. If some thing major goes wrong within days of your warranty expiring, Skoda have been known to offer discounts to those that have used the dealership network for all their servicing. In most cases on here these have been big sums of cash, which otherwise the member could not have afforded.

There is also then the biggy. When you sell your car. Privately or PX, people will be looking for the skoda dealer logo for every service.

How much are you looking to save each service? How many miles/services during ownership?
