Is this repairable?

Featured Replies

Hit a pothole on Saturday and it bent my alloy :S. Thought I had snapped the suspension the noise it made. Been onto council today, seems like I may be able to clame the cost of repair.

Do Skoda still sell 17" Solids? :)

Images don't seem to work for me. If its a flat spot then sometimes they can be rolled out, but they often twist the wheel which isn't easily repairable.

The state of the roads since the snow is aweful, I've never seen so many potholes... Some roads around here are barely usable now.

id phone round some scrapyards see if they have any going for sale......or order from main dealer....they must have some in their wharehouse spares.

Guess you cant use Twitpic to share pics, ammended pics, hopefully they work now.

Going to try and call Pullman Skoda tomorrow as they are only up the road from where I work

hi there...looking at the picture of your wheel i would say its non repairable...i would also get skoda to check the suspension on the side the wheel came off...also get a price for the tyre to be replaced...the tyre must have recieved some internal damage as well....i can just imagine the thud when it happened.......ouch!

Also it brings back memories when i was in france driving at night on country roads..i went over road work repairs where tarmac was gauged out for replacement in my l+k octavia estate...was ok going over the 1st section, but they didnt supply a ramp to go over the return part of the road and that was almost kerb height !! the next day i knew the suspension took a battering as the suspension went up and pushed the bolts holding the shocks upwards forming a crease in the engine bay...after seeing that and unfortunately there was no one about to get info for claiming for damage caused..i decided to p/x the octavia for the superb that i have now...i remember the sound when it happened....it felt as if the car was going to break into pieces

New Skoda 17" wheels are £195+ VAT each.

My Dealer quoted this to me in December last year but then he found that an imitation Co (they usually use) had a few left in stock and I managed to get one for £130. I don't think this company make these wheels now?

Thanks for info about Ian Jemison  , bit too far away York though, I live near Newcastle

Going to have to double check top suspension mounts now after reading about Skodanuts octy. I was replacing the front brakes that day so had a good look underneath, it all appeared to be ok.

Went to VW dealer today, 232 in vat for a wheel, so similair prices, going to call TPS to see if they can supply the wheel, may work out cheaper.
