Looking for insurance for my brother and it's just gone mad. 3 months ago I could insure an 1.4 Astra MK4 for £1800 with Directline, now they won't insure it. This goes for Churchill too. I tried a 1.2 Corsa SXI which many first time drivers have and all I get is unable to quote. Can anyone recommend cheap insurance companies and cars that are easy to insure but are good cars too.

It can be worth adding other drivers to the policy as named ones, this can reduce the cost substantially.
