MDI connection

Featured Replies

i know the MDI option isnt available in the UK, but is this something that is a possible after market fit if you could get hold of the kit?

like this unit....

Anyone know how they fit in, is it just a plug into the back of the radio type thing?

EDIT - there is an MDI connector cable available in the UK accessories brochure at £20. Seems odd to sell this with no MDI option.

Looks like it would fit to me.

I understand that the Bolero and the VW RCD510 head units are similar.

If you look at photo 2, it shows 2 large black connectors ("Quadlocks") - you'd need to remove your stereo, undo the already fitted Skoda Quadlock and clip this "extension lead" in between the headunit and the original wiring.

Looks like the "stripey" cable then needs to be routed to where required (e.g. glovebox, or cubby hole).

Would have thought you could test whether connectivity works before routing the cable - if it doesnt work, return for a refund !

have you spoken to the company yet ?

I've just emailed them to ask the question. Also I am going over near them in March so might pop in and have a look. The photos show the centre console being different to the Yeti so might need to adopt it to get the MDI socket somewhere neat. Failing that I have a friend who visits Chechz often with work so he might be able to pick one up from there.
