THE color : photos and impressions (1.2)

Featured Replies

5 days with the Yeti, 700 kms and ..all I can say is that I am really AMAZED!! I never drove a better car than this one before and I owned a lot more expensive cars in the past! The small engine is a marvel : I made a 600km trip, one third of these on the mountains and the average consumption was 41 mpg (6,9 lt/100)!! A completely new engine with 250 kgs load!.. With a LOT of smoothness and elasticity, I could drive on the mountains with the 5th or 6th gear in the box for the most, while passing by other cars!.. Unbelievable.. But the whole car, not only the engine, is superb, extremely well made, giving a perfect ride and a pleasure to drive. The only thing i didn't like is the position of rear view mirror : too low. I can fix this, it's not important. The Yeti is the biggest modern czech marvel after Magdalena Kozena!

Some photos here, it's SO cute in RED!...

The dealer offered a leather upholstery, I opted for a light gray color, to match the Silver interior I have ordered. That makes an improvement over the dark "VAG style" interiors, imho. The interior now is VERY bright and pleasant, it passed my daughters test (the most difficult).

I think you mean gray, but it is very nice :D

Congratulations on your new car. Are those 17in Dolomite wheels or smaller, I cannot quite tell?

yes, i meant grey. These are !6 in moon wheels.

That interior colour is really nice, unfortunately it's not availbale in the UK. I don't think the Moon wheels are either. The red looks great too.

it is mentioned in the UK brochure, isn't?

It is, there are 2 colour options on the leather on the Elegance, or you can upgrade the SE to leather too.

There are more pictures of the Gobi Sand interior in the pictures thread. I ordered it on the strength of those - it seems much lighter and airier (if that's a word) than the black, though the latter is very smart looking.

Looks great in red!

Thankyou very much for the pictures.

I have to say - that is not something I ever thought I'd see in print! High praise indeed.

It is good to see that folks are really taking to the 1.2, I think I was probably a little reserved in my praise when ours first arrived so it's nice that the enthusiasm is still building.

Nice pictures, ikons. Do you have cats eyes lights mounted in the roof control console illuminating the gear lever etc? I have the roof and can see the lights but they don't light up! emoticon-0106-crying.gif

Thanks for the positive review and the great picturesemoticon-0148-yes.gif . The 'moon' wheels do look good. I imagine they would be easy to source from a French Skoda dealer on the other side of the tunnel.

At least 16 in wheels are more comfortable on the road and more suitable for off-roading for the lucky ones who got the 4X4 models..

Same here! The cat eyes are in place but no light out of them!! :'(

They work with the sidelights so the circuit must be broke somewhere. In my view, they are very useful as it allows my passenger to see (maps, food wrappings and so on) without the need for the map light to be put on. So they give light without being distracting.

Perhaps with the wonderful sunroof we don't get the funky cat's eyes then? emoticon-0106-crying.gif

I've got a Dremmel.... can they be retroed ?

Did 120 miles on dark a roads / motorway tonight in the wife's car - cateyes were very useful when reaching for the water bottle.

They are there - just not lighting up, perhaps a couple of Maglites would do the trick... emoticon-0145-shake.gif
