I live in Northamptonshire so the nearer the better, thanks in anticipation

I very much doubt it.

Best you can do is hire a class, and you'll get what they have in that class.

But Yeti = class....! emoticon-0144-nod.gif

Didn't Europcar used to be part owned by VAG ?

Might be worth a call.

You can hire a class - but usually if you ask nicely you can pick the car you want. Got a new golf like this recently instead of a focus.

Yep, Europcar were in the VAG stable. Don't know whether they still are though?

ask around, where i hire from has a fleet of focuses and astras, admittedly is a local independent hirer, but they've always honoured my request, i always request the focus over the astra where i hire from, as i prefer the focus over long distance journeys!!!

Don't throw in the towel yet! It seems that Europcar is or will be renting the 2WD 2L 110 Diesel, at least in Spain. Hmmm how about some sight seeing in the Costa Brava (once the weather gets better) or up in the Pyrenees (the Yeti will feel like home there). I see Birmingham airport is not that far from you, you got some pretty cheap flights to Spain from Ryanair there. ;)
