Daft. They put the Panda on snow tyres and the Yeti on road ones, and are surprised that the Panda is then so much better off road?

From what I've seen the Panda is indeed pretty capable in mud and such, but it's hardly a fair comparison...

You are right. They try to compare two different items - road tyres with off road boots. I would expect the Yeti to out perform the Panda if both were fitted with off road tyres. I was mightily impressed with my Yeti on the ice and snow with standard tyres and the off road button.

Except you would not feed many sheep using the Yeti boot for straw bales. Stick with the Unimog or the Quad bike.

Come to think of it, wouldn't the Panda have been better and quieter on-road if it had had road tyres? Seems a bit unfair on both of them really!

I always did think the Yeti looked like a Panda on steroids. But c'mon guys! Praise to the Panda for full tie 4D? Viscous Coupling and electronic diif? What do they think the Yeti has? All the 4WD have the Haldex4 with the Haldex limited slip diff on the rear axle - never mind the Off-Road button, that is just cream on top of the cake, which they wold never even have noticed in the tests they did.

Not serious, they will compare the Panda to a Hummer next.

I've a freind with a Panda Cross, and his hasn't got M & S tyres as standard!!

And you would be lucky to get one bale in a Panda, whereas the Yeti looks like I could get 3 in!!

The tyre trick is something that happens within the 4x4 press as well with different 4x4's. Typically they have a group test and surprise, surprise the winner is the one fitted with the Mud Terrain Tyres while all the rest are on more modest rubber.

I suppose its a bit like putting Rory Underwood up against Jonah Lomu - sometimes the little guy will win!
