Fabia Diesel PreHeat warning lights

Featured Replies

Hi!

Can anybody tell me why the Diesel heater plug warning light is flashing on my 1.4 TDI diesel Fabia (2005)?

Is this a serious fault? Can a fairly good DIY mechanic repair this fault?

Thanks for any feed back :-))

Tonyboy.

The glowplug light also serves as a fault warning if it flashes while you're driving along. It did this when my coolant temperature sensor began to fail, for example. It's very hard to tell what the problem is without running a fault code scan, but it will generally be a problem with a sensor, so once you know what's faulty, it should be pretty easy to put right! :)

Thanks for your quick reply ap0gee,

I guess this means a trip to the dealer to have the fault code scanned and diagnosed.

Thanks again.

Brake light switch!

Brake light switch!

You get added beeps with that though, I think...

Worth checking all the same, as it's something you don't need VAG-COM for!

just check yo havv all the brakelights working as both bulbs out will do that too
