Problems with the very early Yeti's

Featured Replies

I have been offered a September 2009 build ex-demonstrator model, and was wondering if there are any issues that you guys know about with these early build cars versus the current builds. I normally steer clear of any car for at least 6 months after launch to let them iron out any build issues.

I know from this forum of issues with the Xenon's on auto, but is there anything else?

Car is 1.8 TSI Experience (top model here), with leather, panoramic roof, Columbus navigation, Park assist, with 9,000kms

Cheers.

Hi,

I bought an ex demo of similar spec to yours (apart from being a 140 TDi) back in November (September build date) and so far (not wishing to tempt fate) everything is going great. The car currently has around 5,500 miles on it (1,000 when I bought it) and is running really well. I have owned VWs and Audis but can honestly say this is the best car I've owned for combination of abilities and general driving pleasure (everything seems to work well, be well put together and it's just a great environment to be in), it really feels like a luxury SUV that's been scaled down somewhat.

I've heard of some issues through this forum, but hopefully they are the exceptions rather than the norm'.

Hope this helps, good luck.

Tony

I have the aout headlight issue, but there is a software upgrade in the pipeline.........So i'm told! :wonder:

The only trouble I know of is finding one :(

I second that to the letter! I couldn't say it more eloquently! Best formulation describing the Monster!

My Monster has been fantastic and would highly recommend them, although in honest answer to the question she has had one niggle; the odd creak and rattle, mainly associated with the dash and A pillars. unfortunately still on going but after three visits to the dealer fingers X now very intermittent / infrequent. Therefore difficult to pinpoint so I have settled with the current status quo for now anyway.

Appears from the posts I have seen on here and what the dealer tells me this affects just the odd few early production Yeti's. Not come across reports of any built after the end of October with this issue.

The Yeti you describe sounds a great spec by the way, so if go ahead with the purchase I hope you enjoy the Monster experience. :)

Regards,

TP

Hi,

My car is almost spec'd like yours (exept leather). Great car. Only thing so far is a loose gearstick, a little vertical movement possible,

Dealer fixed it in 20min. Extremely satisfied with it, best car I have had so far. Used to have Opel/Toyota before.
