Another Clunk from a fabia

Featured Replies

Right,

Sorry to bring up another "clunk" thread :giggle: Got my Vrs in Nov last year. Its done 26k on the clock and has been fine until a couple of weeks ago.

I park my car on my drive and have to reverse while turning at the same time (not a nice drive really :smirk: ) However when i do this there is a clunk noise from the passenger front side. Now i think its the bushes on the way out. Does do it as well when turning on uneven road's etc. I do also have the occiasional clunk from the drivers front side but not near as often as the passenger side.

Ive taken the car to a garage, they have heard the clunk but dont know where its from. They say they have checked the bushes and the back ones are worn but not sure if that could be the problem, as they dont work on many skodas as they are pug and citroen mainly.

Any help or an easy way to check them?

If the consul bushes are OK, it's likely to be drop links. Cheap and quick job.

HI,

I've the same thing and spent ages trying to find it on here. The best I came across was its caused by the suspension strut insert. It was a guy that had had his car back to the dealer loads and eventually tightening that solved it. I'm going to drop the oil shortly on mine so I'm going to nip mine up to see if it sorts it because it makes me cringe.

Regards Chris
