folding seats

Featured Replies

Hi, was thinking of a yeti but now also considering an Ocatvia 4x4 or Scout. Just a quick question about seats as my dealers is a quite a drive away!

When you fold the rear seats down,

1) do you need to fold up the base of the seat first, or is it just a case of lowering the seat back straight away?

2) do you get a completely flat floor?

Thanks in advance :)

In the octy 2 you need to fold up the base first then half flip the backs forward so you can get the headrests off then drop the back down. It's not totally flat.

It's not hard to do but it isn't a one handed job.

Thanks! I knew i'd get a nice quick reply on here

When you flip the base forward then fold the backs down flat, the headrests need to be removed. Not handy when you are in a hurry or holding something you want to load or stop a trolley bumping into the car. I know from experience.

You can just fold the backrests down, if a sloping floor will do, that is the easier option.

Do you know what, I have had two Octavias and didn't know that the seat base also lifted up!

Dropping the seat backs is quick and doesn't take much effort, doesn't leave much of a sloping floor and you can get loads in.

You do get a completely flat load floor if you have the variable boot floor fitted (can't remember if this is standard in the Scout's, but we have it). This also removes the boot lip.

Tbh, folding up the seat bases is a doddle, so don't let that put you off.

You lift the front of the base up first which is a bit counter intuitive.
